I may have. Though I think they simply disliked my way of magic rather than using blunt weaponry.

Princes? Which realm do you hail from?

That is very likely, yes. From what I have heard, they have a dislike of magic unless it comes from a trusted wizard. I cannot blame them; there is only one wizard I trust.

Middle Earth is what we call it. Though the old kingdom's name was Arnor, & it will be soon again, if it isn't already!

How many wizards are there?

More than I know. I've heard there are whole councils! I'll be content with one, thank you very much! The other I saw was of a terrible sort, just terrible.

How pointless. Magic isn't about being holed up in some council or tower.

I suppose it can be, without the knowledge or training.

But it is meant to evolve, much like a journey or life evolves. To stagnate magic is to kill it.

I'd never thought of it like that! I'm sure dear old Gandalf would agree, in his gruff way. I'm told my folk have a bit of the fairy people's blood in us, & it makes us a bit adventurous & magic like, but all I've known of it is a talent for getting into trouble. But it was rather a long journey!

Adventure can be its own magic too. As can luck or skill. Magic isn't defined by tricks alone.

Just the sort of thing a wizard would say. Are you the nice sort or the terribly cruel? Though I suppose if you are known for mischief, I cannot expect a straight answer, but a crooked one.

Oh! Splendid! I have never met a wizard of green. I shall look forward to seeing you in person, when all this nonsense is over. Or maybe sooner; I doubt I will have much choice in my comings & goings for some time.
